Our top story this week: A special book report on the persecution of Falun Gong by Jiang Zemin, written by one of his close colleagues in the Chinese government.

First, our top story:

FGMtv came into existence to expose the persecution of Falun Gong in China, told by those who have experienced it first-hand, and also to show viewers the peaceful nature of the practice as it has quickly spread around the world.

Today, we bring you a very special book report on the persecution. The author is described as being "a very high ranking official in the Chinese Communist Party, very close to the President, Jiang Zemin." Recently published in the United Kingdom, it is called, "Poisonous Deceit: How the Chinese Government

(Literally) Gets Away with Murder by Lying, Deceiving and Fabricating its Evidence Against Falun Gong."

The author describes in detail how a network of spies using state-of-the-art miniature audio-visual equipment has infiltrated the prisons and labour camps, and gathered evidence that includes well over 4,100 photographs and as many voice recordings of the torture of innocent people. He also details how the Chinese people have been deceived by Jiang Zemin with false propaganda that defames Falun Gong.

To quote the preface, "I am going to reveal to you the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong in China, which has its origin in the power-mad, jealous, and dishonest character of Jiang Zemin. His fear of the very goodness and popularity of Falun Gong, and his desire to consolidate his own power, led him to create a “Falun Gong problem ” where none existed. He has done so with a massive propaganda campaign."

He says of the number of practitioners tortured to death, "The number of innocent people tortured to death throughout the duration of this persecution has been hard to pinpoint. Most overseas organizations place the number in the low hundreds. Falun Gong Practitioners overseas have recently adopted a figure between sixteen and seventeen hundred. However, the actual number is over seven thousand."

Of practitioners he says, "Falun Gong Practitioners have never broken any laws except for the illegal, unconstitutional “laws ” Jiang has conveniently created to unlawfully arrest and imprison Falun Gong Practitioners. Jiang has arranged it so that these new “laws ” criminalize virtually every aspect of Practitioners’ lives."

About Jiang Zemin, the author says, "Although he is generally fearful and insecure, Jiang would not be brutally torturing Falun Gong Practitioners if he truly understood what Mr. Li and Falun Gong are all about. If he did know, he would never have fabricated all the media content to crucify Falun Gong and Mr. Li. He would have realized that Mr. Li was single-handedly ushering in a new era in Chinese history where the principles of Truthfulness, Forbearance and Kindness reigned and where crime, although ever present, would have dropped by at least 50% instead of rising by 50%, as it has under Jiang ’s leadership.

We tried to tell him this at numerous meetings, but he insisted on having his way. Having his way has wasted billions of Yuan to persecute the very thing that would have helped restore law and order to our society."

The author, who does not indicate whether he is a Falun Gong practitioner or not describes his motivation for writing the book as follows, "I myself am not for or against Communism. I am for truth. I do not have any ideology to guide and confuse me. I do what is noble and shun what is not. I ’m not apt to fight against something as much as I am to fight for something. In fighting for truth I am automatically fighting against that which is false. If one is to fight, one must consciously pick his fights, meaning one should know what he’s fighting for. Fighting for truth is noble. It is a fight for the highest good."

The author further explains his motivation, "Someone must expose the truth behind Jiang’s fabricated stories. That someone might as well be me and it might as well be now.

As a Government official it is my duty to serve, to look out for my country ’s best interests and be directly responsible to the Chinese people. That ’s the entire purpose of being an official. When I see Jiang hoodwinking the Chinese people without regard for their need and right to know the truth, which they look to their Government to supply, I see him making a mockery of the “office of the Presidency ”.

As long as I am alive I will denounce Jiang ’s brand of leadership. China ’s people deserve better!"

The author describes Jiang Zemin's tactics as follows:

They dare to say what they want, when they want, and to whomever they want

They make all statements with unabashed arrogance

They offer no explanations for their claims

They claim everything to be “fact ”, but never state their alleged sources

They do not defend themselves, their positions, or their statements

They admit no wrong and make no apologies

They will never allow you to verify or investigate their claims to see if they are true

They become indignant if you tell them you don ’t believe them

He states about Jiang "One high-ranking Chinese official also very close to Jiang, even went so far as to suggest that, “Jiang is an unconscionable pedophile and swears he witnessed something personally, with his own two eyes that led him to believe those charges were in fact, true. I always knew Jiang was an evil individual but that ’s as far as I had gotten. However, the pedophile charges do not surprise me in the least, knowing Jiang as I do."

He reveals that," We have a well-established network of handpicked spies working for us from within the confines of the Chinese prisons themselves. They know the deepest, darkest, filthiest secrets of the Party ’s inhumane treatment of Falun Gong. They get to see Jiang ’s brand of terrorism “up close and personal”. They wake up to it -the screams of torture, the fright, the smell of decay –and they go to sleep knowing they will wake up the next day to more of the same."

And again later, "They’ve recorded the names and addresses of all the guards

in the prisons, where they are assigned, and which guard(s)murdered or tortured which Practitioner(s),and the circumstances involved."

And, "Through the use of miniature state-of-the-art audio/visual devices we have taken pictures of many of the various torture devices used on Practitioners, as well as their lifeless battered bodies covered in wounds lying on the floors of their cells. We have pictures of force-feeding with accompanying sounds, which would, if you heard them, make you feel like vomiting, crying or both. At least that’s the effect they have on me."

Again, "We have infiltrated their prison ranks with precision and purpose and are now on the “inside-looking-out ”. What Jiang and his cohorts claim takes place or doesn’t take place in these jail cells is nothing even remotely close to the truth. We have well over 4,100 photographs and as many voice recordings that say otherwise. The information we have gathered is staggering and overrules any lies

Jiang and his media tell the world, no matter how clever or convincing they appear to be."

Of the Chinese economy he says, "The mirage of a “roaring” Chinese economy, will pass just like the dot.com mirage did in the US stock market. Everything will end as quickly as it came into being leaving many, many investors, with wide open mouths, empty bank accounts and tears in their eyes...guaranteed!"

Of Falun Gong he says, "Could it be that there would have never been a problem to this day with Falun Gong, if Jiang had not intentionally gone out of his way to slander and destroy its good reputation? I know so."

Falun Gong Barred From Iceland during upcoming scheduled visit of Chinese President

In the Washington Post, Richard Middleton, an Associated Press writer reporting from Reykajvik on June 7^th, said that the government of Iceland has barred all Falun Gong members from entering the country until June 18^th. It is a bid to prevent a large demonstration against Chinese President Jiang Zemin who is scheduled to arrive there on June 12^th for a visit that runs through June 16^th.

The government said it is the first time the country has banned members of any movement or international organization from visiting Iceland. The move was taken in an effort to avoid the kind of protest that occurred the last time a top Chinese official visited the country.

In September 2000, a demonstration against China's human rights record was held when Li Peng, then premier, visited Iceland, prompting him to cancel a stop at parliament.

The European Falun Dafa Information Centre is urging the government to reconsider its decision. Many expressions of outrage have been voiced by the people of Iceland, with promises to stage their own protests against this denial of their country's democratic processes.

BBC Television Reports on Falun Dafa Activities in Lord Mayor's Parade in Oxford, UK

At 5pm while practitioners were busy tidying up after a successful day at South Park, BBC television broadcast a special report on all Jubilee celebrations in and around Oxford. Viewers who missed the day's event were given the opportunity to see the brightly colored Falun Dafa group and the warm reception it received from the people of Oxford. The television camera captured everyone who took part in the Falun Dafa group as well as all the messages on the banners.

Later in the day, the organizers sent a "thank you" email to a local practitioner, saying in part: I would like to thank you and all your colleagues and the dear children for the wonderful effort put into your stall, chi gong exercise and meditation plus arena event on Monday this week. It was all so beautiful and your stall proved to be one of the most popular ones on the field.

Creative way to show people the truth!

· This is the car on which a New Zealand family of practitioners set up a TV set to play video programs explaining the truth of Jiang Zemin's crackdown against Falun Gong.

· The banners on two sides read: "For your wonderful future, please come to learn the truth" and "Falun Dafa, Truth-Compassion-Tolerance."

Stories from China

Fifty-year-old Mr. Heixiao Zhao from Nansu Village made ferocious comments about Falun Dafa and Teacher Li Hongzhi. In January 2001, he suffered a stroke due to exposure to carbon monoxide poisoning and became paralyzed. His medical bills amounted to over 10, 000 Yuan. Later, he regretted what he had done and asked his wife who practices Falun Dafa to read the book Zhuan Falun to him. Now his physical and mental health have gradually recovered.

At Liangguan Village, Xiawuqi Township, in the suburb of Tianjin, a man was tearing down Dafa truth clarification flyers and made some very disrespectful comments about Dafa. No sooner had he finished his attacks, when he dropped dead in front of a big crowd. This event was widely known in the area and people were very shocked.

A site dedicated to explaining the spiritual practice of Falun Gong, gaining in global popularity - especially in China, where it is still viewed with suspicion by the authorities.
