For the latest information , please visit the Pinnacle Systems web site at http://www.pinnaclesys.com or http://www.titledeko.com 3) Software Installation See the section "Installing TitleDeko" at the beginning of the TitleDeko user's guide. 4) Operational Requirements * Adobe Premiere 5.1 or later. * A PC running Windows '95, Windows '98, Windows NT or Windows 2000. 5) Known Limitations Monitor not redrawing - When you use TitleDeko to create a graphic, it may cover up the Monitor window in Adobe Premiere. There appears to be a bug in Adobe Premiere such that it sometimes fails to redraw that window, and part or all of it is blanked out. This corrects itself as soon as you cause something new to be put in that window. Very large letters with textures - If you have created a TitleDeko letter that is larger than one screen, and it has been typed in a look that contains a texture, part of the character might be white, because it has "run out" of texture. Increasing the spacing between letters with frames - If you apply a style that has a frame and the kerning control is used to increase the spacing between the characters, at some point the frame will no longer be drawn between the characters. Quarter- and Half-vertical Capture at 30 and 60 fields per second (fps) - Capturing video at quarter or half-vertical size means that only one of the two fields of every frame will be stored. This reduces the data rate, but introduces some temporal artifacts. These artifacts are especially visible on smooth horizontal or vertical movements. The TitleDeko Roll and Crawl features may thus produce a jittery look. Creating a Crawling Title - When building a crawl, make sure that it is typed as if it were a sentence, letting it wrap from row to row on the screen. For example, if the text is modified by selecting and moving letters out of sequence, your crawl may not be rendered properly in Adobe Premiere. Cut, Copy and Paste - Using these clipboard functions while in TitleDeko with Windows 95 or 98 and Premiere version 5.1 will cause TitleDeko to lock up. TitleDeko will need to be shutdown using the Task Manager. This problem has been fixed with Premiere 6.0. Installing TitleDeko with multiple versions of Premiere - This install will install TitleDeko to one location only. It can be your choice whether to install in Premiere 6.0 or in a previously installed Premiere 5.1 directory. However, once installed, you will not then be able to use the installer to install TitleDeko to the other Premiere version as well. It will be necessary to uninstall TitleDeko and reinstall to switch between Premiere versions. However, once you have used the installer to install TitleDeko, there is a manual way to install TitleDeko into other Premiere versions. We will assume below that you have used the installer to install TitleDeko into the Premiere 6.0 directory. 1. To upgrade a previously installed TitleDeko in an older Premiere directory to TitleDeko Version 1.6 - Copy the following files from the Premiere 6.0 directory to the corresponding place in the older Premiere, overwriting the older files. (To be safe, you might want to back them up, first.) titledeko\titledeko.exe titledeko\titledekoresus.dll titledeko\titledekoresfr.dll titledeko\titledekoresge.dll plug-ins\impt-tdk.prm plug-ins\impt-titledeko.prm 2. To newly install TitleDeko 1.6 in an older Premiere directory - Copy the following files from the Premiere 6.0 directory to the corresponding place in the older Premiere: The entire TitleDeko directory plug-ins\impt-tdk.prm plug-ins\impt-titledeko.prm Premiere Project Video Setting with Pinnacle DC/DV products - It is possible for Adobe Premiere to have a different video resolution setting than the clips you will import with the Pinnacle Systems DC/DV products. This can adversely affect the performance of INSTANT Video when using TitleDeko graphics. Since the resolution of the TitleDeko graphics is determined by the video setting of Premiere, if that setting is different than that of the clips you are using, then INSTANT Video will not play back video sections that have a TitleDeko graphic applied to them. To prevent this you must adjust the video settings of Premiere to match those of the clips you will be using. You can do this by right clicking with the mouse on any video clip in the timeline. Select the Properties item from the menu that will pop up. This will open a window with information regarding the clip; one of the last lines will be the clip's video resolution. Note this down. Now open the Project/Settings pull down menu in Premiere and select Video Settings. Enter the resolution from the clip in this window. You may have to turn off the 4:3 aspect ratio selector to enter the exact settings. Note: all clips and graphics must be the same resolution to experience the benefits of using INSTANT Video. 6) Reporting Defects Pinnacle Systems prefers that any defects found in the field, by customer or dealers be reported.
